Voice Optimization: Why B2B Should Pay Attention

We all want sales. Right? So, paying attention to where we can get leads the simplest and most cost-effective way makes sense. Believe it or not, in today’s marketplace voice optimization is on that list.

As early as 2014, 41% of adults were already using voice technology daily. Most think that voice technology is used for B2C, but when you look at who’s using voice search and why, it becomes clear that the impact of voice search on B2B SEO is inevitable.

The popular belief is that people are using voice search in their cars or kitchens, when the reality is people are using voice search is all environments. Think about when you used voice search last. For me, I can’t type easily on my small screen and my eyesight isn’t what it used to be – voice search is much easier. My phone is on my desk, and I usually have a number of sessions open on my PC. Therefore, voice search comes in handy.

I often talk to firms that don’t believe this is worth their time to think about. While there may be other marketing items that need to take priority, voice optimization should stay on your list. When you are ready to think about how you can leverage your website to convert leads, here are 3 simple tips on how you can optimize.

1. Create a FAQ Page

FAQs contain questions and keywords that make it easy for voice searches to pull content from your site. They also help provide short and readable answers to questions consumers ask. Add FAQs to your website to include useful information that also sparks customer interest, so they ask follow-up questions which increases your voice search ranking.

We do this by creating a monthly Q&A blog that’s activated through social media and our monthly newsletter. It’s an easy way to provide value to your prospective and current clients while strategically optimizing. This same content marketing tactic is included in our Acquire & Nurture Program https://eminetwork.com/programs/

2. Focus on Conversational Keywords

Your website, along with other digital content, should be written in a conversational tone. Keep in mind that people who type a query, and people who ask questions in a voice search are different types of people. The type that query’s might be okay with doing research. The type that uses voice likely wants a quick answer or an instant result.
Consider the natural phrases used in your industry. Also, like Tip #1, what are the most common questions? Work out the answers to those questions in your online messaging. Be sure provide a concise answer first, then expand on the topic later in the page or blog.

3. Update Your Business Listings

Make your business listing accurate as possible. Search your Business online and make sure all the information is up to date. Make sure you include your business name, hours of operation, location, business description, and phone number. Reference the top search engines so that everything matches. Don’t forget Google Reviews!
